During any period when officers and men are held

to be on duty for the Companies in connection with anti-piracy

guards, the Companies should be charged the actual pay and

allowances of officers and men employed the cost of any issues

in kind e.§.,

rations etc. and travelling expenses plus 6d. a

day in respect of each officer and 9d. a day in respect of

each other rank for items such as depreciation of equipment,

and the following daily rates to cover ordinary non-effective

charges, 58.6d. per officer, 28.0d. for each re-engaged

soldier, 18.4d. for each soldier extended but not re-engaged,

8d. for each short service soldier.

The above rates do not cover any special issues

of stores &c. which should be charged separately. Nor do

they cover any liability for officers and men disabled while

lent to the Companies. In such cases Companies will continue

to be liable as above for the officers and men during

disability, for the cost of medical and hospital treatment

and for any disability gratuities or pensions arising out of

their employment including pension to widows and dependants.
